Srutilaya was established in 1992 by Guru Smt. Madhusri Sethuraman
School Mission: Cultivate dancers who have a passion for Bharatanatyam, spread awareness of the art form, and continue to carry forward the tradition for generations to come.
Since its founding, Srutilaya has:
- Trained over 1,000 students
- Conducted 23 dance productions and ballets
- Completed 133 arangetrams
- Raised over $100,000 for various charities, in partnership with the Charity through Art (CHAART) Foundation
Arangetram (graduation dance performance) represents the culmination of one important phase of the student’s learning process. It recognizes the student’s ability to give an on-stage solo performance of an assortment of dance items. It takes years of learning and practice to reach this stage.
